Each bride meets with me personally in a complimentary consultation to discuss her vision for the perfect gown for the perfect day. At this stage the bride can bring in any pictures, sketches or ideas that they may have, and I will discuss possible designs, fabrics and embellishments (such as beading and embroidery) for their gown. I can recommend styles, fabrics and colours to suit the most elegant, sophisticated or simple gown. As each gown is individually made to a perfect fit, subsequent fittings are required: once you are booked in, measurements are taken, the design is drawn up and the pattern designed to specifically fit the client. We then go on to the 'toile' stage. The toile is a calico replica of the garment created to correct any shaping issues, and also works as a trial run, allowing the client to see the design on and make any changes. This gives my clients the freedom to make subtle changes such as necklines, sleeve shapes etc before materials. Each gown is then constructed and embellished by hand to ensure the finest quality.
